Aug 23, 2019 · There is no option in the management console to destroy the VPS. There is a setup fee for every new VPS (5€ and decreasing with length of commitment). The Contabo account with login and password is only created after the first VPS is created, that makes for an odd user experience.
Jun 09, 2017 · To install, purchase your VPS, go to your contabo control panel, VPS control, click the disk icon under "Rescue System", then chose the "SystemRescueCD64", set a password, and click start rescue system. Use putty to SSH to your VPS's IP address and put in the password you just created to login. You do not need to run any sudo commands. just run:

Best service and customer care. I have been a Contabo customer for almost 4 years and i am very happy with their service. They have great customer care, i recently had a situation that involved data loss (not their fault) and they went to great effort to restore a backup that was forgotten by me on a decommissioned backup server, and they did it for a fraction of the cost they estimated.
I contracted VPS 2CPU 4GB, after two months I realized that it was not running at all as I could not connect to it. The Contabo control panel was not reporting any failure in my VPS. After reboot worked fine again. As my VPS was not running any high CPU / RAM consuming application to cause a shutdown I think it is not reliable.

Updated Review. I feel like I have to row back a bit and give kudos to Contabo for what its worth. After talking to a Contabo Rep on the phone regarding my issues and concerns the problem which was most annoying to me (the limited SSD speed) has been fixed and is working quite good right now.

I purchased VPS and after a month contabo start showing real face. VPS is down and since no chat option for support they will reply after 8-12 hrs. some times no any reply.
My Contabo VPS did go down occasionally. Perhaps I was not lucky enough. The downtime period was relatively short though. Most of the time it went back up within one hour. But I would have to say that if you want to compare it with Hetzner, Contabo's network is less stable.
